Election Nerds LLC is a grassroots firm that has the experience of working with statewide and local candidates and campaigns, and national campaign and political events. What we bring to the table is unique. Elishoel "Eli" Reyes-Diaz
Elishoel "Eli" Reyes-Diaz is the Founder and Owner of Election Nerds, LLC. After moving to Eagle Pass, Texas with his husband, he discovered the immediate need to close the gap between candidates and voters. He saw this firsthand while helping his partner run for Eagle Pass City Council, Elias Reyes-Diaz. After growing up in politics, he noticed that there was a need for candidates to improve how they communicate to voters, especially along the border and in rural areas. He built a business with the hope that Democratic candidates would consider seriously invest in campaigning along the border area.
Mr. Reyes is the spouse of Eagle Pass City Councilman Elias Reyes-Diaz. Councilman Reyes-Diaz is the first openly gay elected official in Maverick County. During his landmark campaign, Elias was criticized and harassed for being gay and too progressive for some in his hometown. Elishoel Reyes-Diaz gained campaign training with the Victory Institute for his partner's campaign. This experience helped shape his view on how to modernized campaigns along the border and in rural communities. Since this victory, he has helped progressive candidates such as: Xochil Peña Rodriguez for Texas State Senate, Martha Ponce Gomez for Dimmit County Judge, Roberto Ruiz for Maverick County Commissioner, Gina Ortiz Jones for U.S. House of Representatives, and Joe Jowarski for Texas Attorney General.
Elishoel Reyes-Diaz does not consider to be a political consultant, because he is a registered nurse in Eagle Pass and Uvalde, Texas. He is a first generation college graduate. As a graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and an Associates Degree in Nursing from San Antonio College, he has provided emergency medical services and COVID-19 vaccine access to rural communities in Texas.
Mr. Reyes-Diaz’s goal is to expand progressive policies throughout the US-Mexico border and West Texas by supporting the campaigns of candidates and political groups alike. He is at the forefront on healthcare and LGBTQIA+ issues along the border.
